Reimagine Higher Ed ยท Signature Perspective Reach
You have ideas grounded in practiceโabout how institutions work, what makes change possible, and what other leaders could approach differently. Yet much of that knowledge remains embedded in institutional experience rather than becoming something others can examine, adapt, and build upon.
Signature Perspective Reach brings your leadership expertise into the conversations where it can inform othersโ thinking and expand your professional reach.

Consulting work also includes St. Jude Childrenโs Research Hospital, Ravinia Festival, the American Orff-Schulwerk Association, and the American Music Therapy Association, to name a few.
Your expertise, reaching further
A colleague at another institution may be wrestling with a challenge you understand well. A professional association may be seeking a fresh perspective. A potential collaborator may be looking for someone who sees a connection others have missed. Each needs a way to recognize what you could contribute.
Signature Perspective Reach gives those audiences a substantive introduction to your thinkingโwhat you believe, the experiences behind it, and why it matters to their work.
Whether you are early in your leadership career or bringing decades of experience, the opportunity is meaningful exchange: people engaging with your ideas, inviting you into relevant discussions, and finding reasons to work together.

A published example ยท Ilias E. Perakis
Dr. Ilias E. Perakis, an academic leader and physicist at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, brought a clear perspective on academic leadership, informed by more than three decades of research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and academic leadership across research universities in the United States and Europe.
Across his reflections, three themes expressed the thinking connecting his work: Build People. Connect Knowledge. Create Public Value. Our editorial collaboration brought his perspective into a two-part Chairโs Perspective that a wider professional audience could engage with. The resulting pieces begin from the department, where institutional ambitions encounter faculty work and student experience, and extend into an argument about how universities preserve disciplinary depth, reduce fragmentation, and build shared capacity.
Complexity is not the problem. Fragmentation is.
His distinction changes how leaders diagnose institutional problems. If complexity is the problem, simplifying structures may seem sufficient. If fragmentation is the problem, the work is to reconnect people, knowledge, and opportunities while preserving the disciplinary depth that makes those connections valuable.
His perspective reconsiders the relationship between departments, colleges, and the wider institution. Departments provide disciplinary depth, scholarly identity, and a home for expertise. The college has a different responsibility: creating the connections through which those strengths can contribute to shared purposes. That calls for more than units reporting upward. It requires relationships, information, and opportunities that allow departments to work across boundaries while retaining meaningful autonomy.
The editorial work carries his perspective beyond a record of accomplishments. It makes the relationships among his ideas explicit for readers, giving other leaders a substantive argument about building coherence without demanding sameness.

Bringing leadership knowledge into professional conversation
โSince publication, I have received several speaking opportunities to share this knowledge within my broader academic library profession.โ

This example relates to a separately developed client spotlight. Speaking invitations and other professional opportunities are individual outcomes, not guaranteed results of this engagement.
No. Signature Perspective Reach is available independently for leaders who have an established leadership philosophy or perspective.
